Firefly Color
On Cinco de Mayo we had Mr. & Mrs. D from Huntsville, AL. They had been searching for a half-way point between Huntsville & Milwaukee and he mentioned Effingham to his wife. She said "Effingham? That is where that restaurant from Bon Appetite is, I bet they are doing something special for Cinco de Mayo." So they planned their trip around our tasting. Mr. & Mrs. H: As New Yorkers who often drive cross-country, sent us an email: "we have modest expectations of restaurants in "fly-over" country. We discovered Firefly Grill by accident, and what a great find! It is the equal of our favorite Manhattan haunts. 
Outstanding drinks, food and service. Super crab cakes, rack of lamb and scallops in puff pastry shells. Definitely worth a significant detour. One of the very best in the mid west."
A gentleman from Telluride, CO, stumbled across us, came in at 3pm and had the tuna said he loved it. Came back later in the evening and enjoyed the ribs - said they may be the best meal of his life. He's coming back with colleagues on his next trip through and has invited us to Telluride! A woman from Eastern Illinois University follows us on Twitter to see our specials and comes down accordingly, she loves the firefly.
