Our hearts are heavy, Niall and I were up most of the night trying to figure out the right thing to do with the upcoming shutdown. There is so much anger and derision happening within our country and community, it is heartbreaking to experience and we don’t want to add to it in any way. We take into consideration hundreds of variables when making these decisions, yet the safety of our fellow humans is highest on our list of priorities. It is demoralizing to be shut down again while knowing that firefly was doing all the right things, following all the safety protocols and ultimately keeping our team and clients safe. Nonetheless, it is out of our hands, until everyone is committed to slowing the spread of this virus, the shutdowns will continue and more restaurants will go out of business.
Having our farm and such a talented team will help us to weather this storm, we will continue to pivot and evolve with this rapidly changing and uncertain landscape.
To comply with the shutdown, firefly will close after Sunday brunch tomorrow, November 1st. Our plan is to open for curbside takeout starting Friday, November 6th. Our hours for takeout will be Wednesdays through Saturdays 11am to 2pm for lunch and 4pm to 7pm for dinner. We are developing an online ordering system now and hope to have it running in a few weeks. We will evaluate our situation and the pandemic weekly in an effort to manage both for the best outcomes.
We need your support during this demanding holiday season. You can help us by purchasing gift cards on our website, ordering curbside takeout and by booking special events with Katie for your pods.
We miss you already and wish that we could remain open to serve you. We encourage everyone to do whatever they can to slow the spread of this terrible disease so that all businesses can get open to serve our community.
We are grateful for your help, your patience, your understanding and support. Niall and I love this community and will do everything we can to keep it safe.
Kristie, Niall, Camden and team firefly
